Sajama park lies within the Central Andean dry puna region. It features a spectacular Andean landscape, with elevations ranging from 4,200m to 6,548m altitude. Besides the high volcanoes, the Park is visited for its thermal waters, Queñua forests, millenar Llareta plants, camelid herds and the tradicional lifestyle of the Aymara indigenous people.
