Isluga volcano is close to the Bolivian/Chilean boarder of Colchane. As it belongs to the active volcanoes in the region it is among the mountains which are visited every now and then. the car can hlp you up to 4400m altitude and 700m more await you to reach the highest point of the crater. Alook into it, and you will observe many fumaroles. The sulfur smell might get quite intense. The loose volcanic ash (scree slope) make for a quick descent.

 

When climbed from Putre, it is usually combined with the visit of Salar de Surire and the thermal water springs. Can be done within 2 days.
