In Front of Pomerape and Parinacota, Guane Guane offers close views on most of the major mountains in the region. At its foot you will observe the multiple lagoons of Khota khotani. Reaching a little over 5000m altitude, Guane Guane is perfect to acclimatize before climbing higher. On the way to the base of the mountain you will visit the typical village of Parinacota and its colonial church. The village is close to andean bogs (Bofedales) which shelter many bird sepcies, Lamas, Alpacas and the wild Vicuñas. Guane Guane is usually climbed within a day from Putre.
